Hurricane Ireme

A week after Hurrican Irene brushed the NC shore. Bishop Ehrisman drove to the coast to visit his sister who lives a block form the beach. As he turned down the road, which was one block from the beach he saw a huge object in the middle of the road. Getting closer he realized it as a large boat, sitting right in the middle of the road.
 He got out of his car to inspect and the neighbor woman came out and said how she looked out her window and saw the boat come sailing down the street. In a small fishing community people don't often leave their homes for a storm and definitely not their boats, so it was not surprise that there was a witness to the event. She continued saying that everyone else had tied their boats up strongly to the dock. The hurricane had blown all the water out of the harbor. When it came back in this boat, the boat that had not been tied to the harbor was pushed inland and sent sailing down the street.

Initially thought how stupid, how inconsiderate, how unprepared. But then began to think how many times has he, have we been the ones sailing down the street because either by choice of accident we forgot to tether ourselves to the dock.
